God’s Light Switch
Then God Said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3
It’s second nature, isn’t it? We walk into a dark room and flip
a switch. In an instant, light floods every corner.
It just happens; we take it for granted.
But, there aren’t any switches to flip that will bring light into our dark circumstances. God is our source of light and, sometimes, He asks us to wait.
I’ve struggled with loneliness and prayed for God to bring new friends into my life. And I waited.
Then it happened! In the last few weeks…
I began a Storms of Life class in my home.
I was invited to a morning ladies Bible study.
I was invited to the Garden Club. (I have 2 brown thumbs
so I need all the help I can get!)
I was invited to join the Friends of the Library group.
(Reading’s one of my passions so it’s a perfect fit.)
God stepped into my circumstances and said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
When has God spoken light into your circumstances?
Do you need prayer while you wait?

Sherry,
Good to hear that God is opening all these doors for you to become involved in your new community. We serve a faithful God!
I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you, Cynthia. Mondays are "no technology" days – no internet, TV, cell phone. I love those things and have chosen to fast from then every week. It's amazing what God says to me in the silence!
God has certainly been faithful to meet my needs. Funny, though, He waited until I quit griping about it 🙂
